Grand Rutherglen Muscat
Wine
Stanton & Killeen Grand Rutherglen Muscat is made from the variety Muscat รก Petits Grains Rouges, also known as Rutherglen Brown Muscat.
The grapes are allowed to ripen naturally to a very high sugar content. After a brief fermentation, the wine is fortified and set aside to age for many years.
If a parcel is particularly special, it may eventually 'graduate' to age in the winery's Grand solera system. These wines are the product of exceptional vintages, combining fruit depth with aged complexity.
At each release, small portions of the oldest barrels from the Grand solera are drawn off and bottled, and the barrels are refilled with the wine from the next oldest collection.
As a result of blending, this wine has an average age of 15-20 years.
Deep amber, Stanton & Killeen Grand Rutherglen Muscat is luscious and layered, a dark and dense blend of Christmas cake, molasses and nutty flavours.
Having matured fully in barrel, it is best consumed within two years of release.
